Hi, my name is Alexander Forné Strøberg.

I’m 19 years old and from Hillerød in northern Sjælland and I’m totally hooked on bodybuilding!

Let me start by telling you how my passion for bodybuilding began.

The very first time I experienced a fascination of muscle was when I was about 8-9 years old. I was with my dad in a sports store and I saw a poster of a muscular body. I turned to my dad and said: “Dad! This is how I want to look when I grow up!”.

However it wasn’t before I turned 16 that I started working out with weights, but I was hooked from the first day! I was a little overweight at the time and had a desire to change my body to the picture in my mind of how I wanted to look. I didn’t have much knowledge about training and kinda just trained what I thought was fun. It was what I would call disco training as I mostly did chest and abs… you know the show muscles ;-) But as I got more experienced I started to work out more seriously and started getting some results. I started to get the desire to compete in a bodybuilding competition and realized that I needed some expert help. That’s when I contacted Helle. After one look at what she had achieved I knew that I wanted to work with her and take the next step and turn my training into an elite sport.

I’m sure that what happened in that sports store when I was a little boy planted the first seed and 98% of the time that seed, that desire, is what keeps me on track training hard and eating the right foods. I may be new in the sport but my discipline, focus, drive and hunger for a fit & healthy body is 100% on top! I know that I will achieve my goals in time.

My best and worst body part

My best body part is my legs. I’m really blessed with good genetics for legs.

My worst body part is my chest but I’m working on it!

Other sports besides bodybuilding

Besides the weight training I keep myself in shape with soccer training. I don’t play at a very high level (series 4), but I like the camaraderie we have on the team and it keeps my cardiovascular conditioning at a decent level. It’s a good supplement to my weight training.

Previously I was an avid long distance runner. I’ve run the Berlin marathon at 3hrs and 48min. The distance was 42.195 kilometers / 26.2 miles. I’ve also done the Hillerød Triathlon – the short and the long one(short: 500 meters / 0.3 miles swimming, 39.5 kilometers / 24.5 miles biking, 10.0 kilometers / 6.2 miles running. The long one is double).

I’ve done a little mountain climbing as well. In the summer 2009 I climbed the highest mountain in Europe: Mount Blanc in France.

Future plans

My future plans are to finish my HF college degree this summer. Then take a year or two off to work and focus on my training. I would like to move to Copenhagen around that time, but I’ll have to see how everything comes together financially first. Then I’d like to join the police force.
